Nathan Cabral

Meet Nathan Cabral, an integral part of our team at Takapu Charters. Nathan's journey with us is rooted in a lifelong love affair with the sea, ignited during his childhood fishing adventures alongside his Nan and Grandad. They'd often venture out for salmon fishing and even competed regularly in the Master's Game Fishing competitions. Nan was the champ, and Grandad was the deckhand back then, handling fish and rebaiting lines.

Originally from Aramoana, Nathan spent five years as a marine engineer in Sawyer's Bay, where he honed his skills before joining our team. His early experience on a trawler boat cemented his desire to work in the marine industry. The opportunity to join Takapu Charters arose through a connection made during Nathan's days in the boatyard. For the past two years, Nathan has been living his dream as a deckhand, bringing his extensive knowledge and infectious enthusiasm to every fishing expedition and marine adventure.

Nathan thrives on the thrill of setting cray pots and fishing for groper/hapuka, always on the lookout for new fishing spots and eager to learn about the diverse marine environments that surround us. He loves sharing these experiences with our guests, whether it's guiding them on their first fishing trip, spotting wildlife, or celebrating a successful catch together.

Beyond the excitement of his job, Nathan cherishes the escape from city life and treasures the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life. Each charter brings new friendships and stories, making every trip with Nathan a memorable and enriching experience for everyone on board.
